All of us can make a difference for animals in our everyday lives, and there's nothing more heartwarming than an "Average Joe" stepping up to save an animal in need. Here at LittleThings, we've seen our fair share of animal rescues. From the fox whose tail was caught in a fence to a dog who fell into an icy lake, these animals were all saved from certain death thanks to some heroic humans.
This time, a hiker came to the rescue of two swans that were tangled in fishing wire. He heard their cries from a distance and decided to investigate. As he got closer, he realized the two swans were unable to move because they were both tangled up. When the swans saw the man, they swam toward him, almost as they knew he'd be able to help. It took a little perseverance and patience, but he was finally able to free both of them.
One of the swans flapped its wings, reveling in its freedom! The other swan appeared to still have his feet and wings caught, so the man followed the scared swan and realized he was still wrapped in a little wire. He fearlessly picked the swan up and was able to remove the last bit of wire. Finally, the man's work was done as both swans flapped their wings and swim away.
Even though this rescue is amazing, it’s good to remember that if you ever find an animal in distress, you should contact a local wildlife rescue first before attempting to rescue the injured or orphaned animal yourself.
