Most of us have never been forced to make decisions on which our safety and our lives depend. Putting our lives on the line does not come naturally to most of us since it goes against our intuition for self-preservation. Most people would only give their lives up for their families, especially for their children — not for total strangers!
However, this mentality doesn't apply to a select few heroes who step up to the plate in the most dire of situations with the most disastrous consequences. These people don't have to be firefighters or officers or military personnel who put their lives on the line everyday, but can be civilians.
Despite having no training, these people can be lifesavers!
Gregory Hawkins is just one of these good Samaritans. He risked his life to save children from a horrific car crash that killed five people.
He witnessed two cars zoom past him before they were involved in the fatal crash. He rushed to the scene, reaching into the wrecked vehicles for the kids and a woman inside. He and another stranger plucked them one by one, before it was too late!
Now, Hawkins is being called a hero for his actions, and thanks to him, there weren't as many fatalities as there could have been.
