There's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition — just ask these U.S. Marines. In a video that has gone viral, the U.S. Marines square off against Republic of Korea soldiers in a friendly drum battle before a parade at the 2014 Gyeryong Military Culture Festival.
In the video, the two bands face off, but the Marines have a few surprise up their sleeves. In the end, it's all good fun, with everyone cheering and dancing while the Marines are playing. Spoiler alert: It ends in a tie, but, let's be honest, everyone is a winner here.
I'm always blown away by videos like this — it's hard to imagine the practice and discipline these men and women had to put themselves through to perform so precisely. Their talents reminds me of these Marines, who executed a perfect silent drill so perfectly that my jaw dropped!
This is a video that just about anyone can enjoy. Whether you love music, are interested in the military, or just have some proud and true American spirit in your veins, this performance is sure to make you cheer!
The U.S. Marines' band, officially called the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band, are based in Okinawa, Japan and travel worldwide to perform. They are such a talented group!
