Mercedez-Benz Proves Uncrashable Cars Are Great For Adults, Boring For Kids

There are some things that are as predictable as taxes and the circle of life. When you give a kid a few toy cars they're bound to crash 'em.

That's what Mercedez-Benz proved in their little Brake Assist System PLUS experiment. The question was: what happens when kids can't crash toy cars?

The luxury car company put magnets into toy cars without letting the little ones know. When the two cars come close enough for a head-on collision, instead of crashing, they repel each other.

Kids aren't so keen on the "uncrashable cars." For them it's almost like something has gone wrong in the universe. Gravity is still there. Check. Mommy and Daddy are still there. Check. So why aren't these cars crashing?!

Toy cars that don't crash? Not much fun. Real cars that don't crash? Groundbreaking.

If you're not quite up to speed on car safety, you might want to take a peek at AT&T's texting-while-driving PSA.

With Mercedez-Benz new Brake Assist System, when two real cars get a little too close, a little too quickly the vehicle knows when to stop. Kids may not find it exciting, but I think parents who know their children are safe will.

Watch as a group of tiny tots struggle to crash their toy cars in this hilarious ad. The adorable frustration is palpable!
