When I was a kid, I used to beg my dad to get me a metal detector so I could walk around the beach searching for buried treasure.
I realize now that it probably isn't the best gift for a kid, but I would still take a metal detector in a heartbeat. Who wouldn't want to find something completely priceless?
We've seen how metal detectors can be used to dig up some truly amazing hidden gems, like when this man used one to propose to his long lost high-school sweetheart, but what happens in the following video has to be a first.
In Spring 2013, a man used his AT-Pro metal detector on his large plot of land, the same place he's called home since he was a boy. He wasn't looking for anything specific, he just wanted to mess around and see if he could find anything, so you can imagine the shock he felt when he dug up something very familiar.
Nearly 40 years earlier, not long after graduating high school in 1973, the man lost his class ring. I'm sure he hasn't thought about it in decades and had no clue where he dropped it, so when he pulled out the very same ring, he was left speechless.
As we've seen when this woman who retrieved her mother's lost wedding ring from 1959, nothing is ever truly gone forever!
