For the most part, expecting moms don't need to worry about making it to the hospital in time to give birth. Labor and delivery typically take hours (and sometimes days) from start to finish. However, there are exceptions — and sometimes, babies are born unexpectedly on the side of the road en route to the hospital.
This is exactly what happened to a couple in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Recently, they welcomed their baby boy on the way to the delivery room. And they named their son after the brewery parking lot where he was born.

On August 13, Kyle Baker started experiencing cramps on her due date but did not believe she was in labor with her third child yet. The pain gradually became worse and more regular, so she called her husband, Aaron, to come home.
"I got home and grabbed something to eat real quick," Aaron told Fox 17. "She was not pushing me, like, 'Hey, we got to go. Now, we got to go.'"
Neither of them thought the baby would be born soon, and they were in what Aaron described as a "casual rush" by the time he and Kyle got in the car to head to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, from Vicksburg. But the 25-minute drive was cut short.
"We start driving up the road, up Portage Road, and we get about five to 10 minutes up the road, and the pain moans, we'll just call them, that are getting worse and worse and worse,” Aaron told Fox 17.
Aaron called 911 and was instructed to pull over so first responders could meet them.
"I ripped off my shorts. I had shorts on, and I felt the head crowning, and I’m like, it’s happening now," Kyle told Fox 17.
After Aaron told the dispatcher he was pulling into One Well Brewing, the laboring mom was pushing.
"By the time he put the brakes on, walked around the passenger side, he got the door open in time to catch his head," Kyle recalled.

Kyle and Aaron named their son Forrest Wells Baker after the brewery.
In a Facebook post shared by One Well Brewing, the business recounted the birth on its premises.
"With ambulances on their way, Baby arrived at 6:31 pm, right in the northwest corner of One Well’s parking lot!" the post read. "They chose to keep Baby’s gender a mystery until birth, and it was then they saw they had a healthy baby boy — their first boy after two girls."
"Their boy name was already selected as Forrest, which just so happens to be the name we give to the middle space of our pub — well, 'The Forest' to be exact, so maybe this unique birthplace was meant to be," One Well Brewing wrote.
The post concluded, "Aaron and Kyle decided to honor the moment with a middle name of 'Wells,' and thus is the story of Forrest Wells Baker’s arrival into this world!"
