In this day and age, anything is possible with the help of modern technology. Anyone around the world can be friends with someone 10 thousand miles away or we can simply monitor how people so far away live. Not only are we more connected with the people we know, but we're also connected to the people we don't know, further bringing as many people on Earth closer together. And while digital encounters could never replace physical ones, they're an adequate substitute for certain circumstances.
For example, take the couple in the video below. A man and a woman, one in Iraq and one in the U.S., have fallen in love, but he's away serving his country. Before the rise of modern technology, this couple would have to wait and wait and wait just to even talk to each other. The time apart would test and try their love for however long duty calls, and she would just have to grin and bear it alone.
Instead, the couple takes advantage of the resources at hand and uses the internet to get married! With the touching help from his fellow soldiers, the groom sets up a space at his base as if it were a chapel and shares his vows through Skype. It's unlike any wedding you've ever seen before, and it might be hard to swallow, but at the end of the day, it's still two people declaring their love for one another forever, hoping to live a long life full of joy!
Please SHARE if you wish this happy couple nothing but the best in life together!
