Starbucks is famous for two things: overly sweetened coffee and the ridiculous price you have to pay to get it.
But paying more for coffee than a sandwich isn't enough to deter millions of people from stopping at the chain cafe every day to pick up their morning cup o' joe. Still, when Starbucks came up with the new mini-Frappuccino and charged $2.75 for it, you'd think that that's where people would draw the line. So Jimmy Kimmel did an experiment that tested Starbucks lovers' commitment to their favorite go-to coffee shop.
I'm not a big coffee fan myself, but I'll be the first to say that I love a good Frappuccino on a hot day. Still, the idea of paying that much for such a tiny cup of the chilled treat just seems ridiculous to me! It's much easier to make this super simple coffee ice cream if you're craving something cold and coffee-flavored. These poor prank victims said that they didn't think anything of shelling out a good bit of cash for their everyday coffee, but when they were charged for what they thought was a sample-sized cup of Frappuccino, they seemed to realize how ridiculous it was to pay that much for so little. I'm sure most of their annoyance came from not being told they'd be charged for the drink in the first place, but I doubt they'll ever buy a mini-Frap after realizing how expensive it was!
My absolute favorite part of this video was when the group of girls at the end joked that they were actually German and didn't understand English. The cameraman was probably waiting for a moment like this his whole life! I completely cracked up when the unsung "hero" of this prank started talking.
If this joke (and the cameraman's surprise) made you laugh, SHARE this video with all your friends on Facebook!
