Fashion brand ModCloth announced on Tuesday that it has decided to remove the plus-size section from its website. Instead, the site will be combining what's formerly known as its plus-size section with its main line.
The decision to remove the "plus-size" label came after the site conducted a survey of 1,494 shoppers, aged 18 to 35, and found that 60 percent of women felt embarrassed shopping in a different store or section to find their size. Meanwhile, 79 percent felt the fashion industry ignored the needs of larger women.
"ModCloth has always been a firm believer that types of clothing rather than types of bodies should define shopping categories," Susan Gregg Koger, co-founder and chief creative officer of ModCloth, said in a press release. "ModCloth's mission is to help women feel like the best version of themselves, and we believe this is another way we can promote inclusivity. We view this announcement as an important first step towards creating the most inclusive shopping experience we can for our customers."
Now, the company's favorite clothes — which run from XS to 4X — all appear in the same convenient location. Check out some of their latest fashions below and let us know which is your favorite!
