The word "mohawk" might scare quite a few people away at first, but once you see this woman in a pink cable-knit sweater sporting one? I'm pretty sure a bunch of you are going to change your minds!
Usually, when you think of a mohawk, you think of intensely gelled and spiked hair on punk kids from the '90s… but they can be so much more. This mohawk hairstyle doesn't require shaving off any portion of your head, and definitely doesn't stem from grunge culture. Although, if that's your thing, all the power to you!
To start this look, you'll need to create a tiny pompadour at the top of your head. Already, it's sounding much more refined than your typical mohawk. Then, she weaves an elegant braid all the way down the back of her head… except she leaves out tons of her hair. It looks a little funky, but you have to trust me that what she does next is going to totally change the whole look!
This is definitely something that I'm going to try the next time I want to try a slightly more complicated look. Whether it's on a day when I just have some extra time before I have to meet my friends for a casual lunch, or if I'm off to a fancy family party… this will work for anything!
