I'll be honest, I never used to be a fan of reality talent contests like American Idol or The Voice. Then I moved in with a roommate who watched both of those and more, and I immediately found myself just as hooked! Watching someone put themselves out there in the hopes of making their dreams come true is always emotional. After a few episodes, you start to feel like you're one of the judges as you observe the progress and make your own decisions!
One judge who's always been known for his particularly harsh opinions, of course, is Simon Cowell. The mega-producer has lent his golden ear to several competitions over the years, both in his home in England and here in the states. It can be nerve-racking just watching him observe the performance. There's just no predicting how he will react!
But of course, even the grumpiest judge has a soft spot in his heart for truly remarkable performances. That's exactly what 11-year-old Molly Rainford brought to the Britain's Got Talent stage when she stepped up to show off her impressive set of pipes. The young girl seems pretty nervous as she talks to the panel about going to church with her grandma every Sunday, but that doesn't stop her from stunning the judges as soon as the music starts.
Her song choice, "One Night Only" from the Broadway musical Dreamgirls, perfectly captures her unbelievable range of mature vocals. This is what it must have been like to witness Adele or Beyoncé when they were still just little girls!
