Mom Of Anderson Lee Aldrich, Alleged CO Nightclub Gunman, Arrested One Day After Shooting

The mother of Anderson Lee Aldrich, the alleged shooter in the Club Q mass shooting in Colorado Springs, was recently arrested. Her arrest occurred on Monday, November 20, 2022, at around 3:30 a.m.

Laura Voepel, age 45, was located at an apartment building in Colorado Springs at the time of the arrest. She was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The former offense is a misdemeanor and the latter a petty offense.

According to a police record obtained by KUSA, the “subject continued to make unreasonable noise directly next to multiple apartments. While I attempted to place subject into custody, she became combative by physically resisting officers control by force.”

On November 19, just before midnight, Anderson Lee Aldrich allegedly opened fire at Club Q, a LGBTQ+ nightclub in Colorado Springs. The suspect is accused of killing five and injuring 22 people. Aldrich was released from the hospital on Tuesday, November 22, and made an initial court appearance the following day.

This is not the first time Voepel has been in trouble with the law. In 2013, she was charged with arson in Texas, but the charge was reduced to criminal mischief. She was sentenced to five years of probation. According to the New York Post, there are also three outstanding warrants for her arrest in California.

Voepel was not booked on these latest charges but is scheduled to appear in court on January 25, 2023.
