Amanda sat beside her husband, Clint, and began introducing herself in front of the camera. They were at a table inside a local cafe restaurant.
"I'm a mother of four and recently I've learned that I have Hodgkin's lymphoma, and I'm stage three," the brave mother said, describing her devastating diagnosis.
She continued, "I have swollen lymph nodes all around my lungs and my heart and my… spots in my spleen. I don't have health insurance; I'm just feeling terrified."
Amanda became emotional when she thought about how her children would fare without her. She fought through her tears to continue with the GoFundMe video that she was filming — or at least, that's what she thought she was filming.
In the video posted December 9, 2016, Amanda was interrupted by a blonde woman and her children. Amanda and Clint looked up at the woman, who placed a $100 bill down on the table in front of them with a smile. Then, her sons set their own $100 bills down on top of the one that their mother had given the couple.
Amanda and Clint were shocked by the display, realizing that there was a lot more where that came from.
A queue of strangers had formed in the cafe and one by one, people left bills on the couple's table. The massive line of strangers extended outside, deep into the parking lot. It was like a never-ending loop.
Amanda and Clint were reduced to tears. This was all for them.
Finally, Amanda's four kids came running inside with bouquets of flowers for her.
In the end, the strangers raised over $13,000 for Amanda. Although she was about to begin her fight, she definitely wouldn't be alone.
