Is there anything better than a good mystery? I cannot get enough of them, and I love them in all forms. Whether it is a break-neck paced film, a page-turning novel, or even a TikTok drama, my wine is poured and I am sat for the drama. My favorite mysteries of all time are treasure hunts. Perhaps it is my whimsical dream that I too could stumble upon a fortune haphazardly, but nothing is as cool to me as making a fruitful discovery. Across the pond, a real-life treasure hunt is unfolding on social media. The internet has been followed the exciting story of a mom and shop owner, who made an intriguing discovery in her new commercial space.
The tale begins when Sally Rose Sanders, from Whitefield, Greater Manchester in the United Kingdom, seized an opportunity to expand her business, according to The Mirror. The esthetician, who owns S. Rose Cosmetics on Bury New Road in Prestwich, England, purchased the building next to hers after it was shuttered due to illegal activities.
The neighboring property was formerly Butthills Convenience and shut down due to suspected drug dealing during the Oasis concert at Heaton Park on July 19, 2025, noted the Manchester Evening News. Police forced the spot to close officially in August, after they found marijuana worth an estimated street value between $3,369.88 and $4,043.85, as well as counterfeit cigarettes and scratch cards.
Once Sanders finalized the purchase, she began renovations, which included updating and matching the flooring. Upon removal, she informed TikTok via her account @srosecosmetics_ that she had discovered a hidden safe.

“We have found a safe under the floors in the new renovation,” Sanders stated. “The place before us was actually shut down for doing illegal activities from the premises, so stay tuned. We’re going to try and get it open.”
People were immediately invested online, filling her comment section with anticipation. “If there’s cash in it I wouldn’t tell anyone just say it was empty,” wrote one follower.
Others, however, warned she may be in for some disappointment.
“There’s probably nothing inside, they’re emptied regularly. There was one where i used to work, you put the cash from the till into pods then drop them down the smaller hole then the next morning the manager would unlock it, take all the pods out, count the cash and take it to the post office,” added another commenter.
Considering the building was used for illicit activities, it was honestly fair of Sanders to still contemplate trying to open it. Instead of paying a locksmith, she bought an endoscopy camera to look through the small keyhole opening.

On February 23, 2026, Sanders updated her followers with the endoscopy finds, but there wasn’t too much to tell. It does appear, however, that she spotted a box amid a bunch of debris, so followers are hoping she fully commits and goes through the trouble of opening it. Who knows? Maybe those renovations just paid for themselves!
