Mom Of 12 Shares Video Of Her Kids Eating Nachos Out Of A Kiddie Pool

There are some childhood memories you never forget, such as the time Mom took the family out for ice cream for dinner. Alicia Dougherty outdid even this.

The mother of 12, who runs the family’s social media accounts under the name Dougherty Dozen, decided to go all out for Cinco de Mayo. She made a giant serving of nachos in a kiddie pool for her large family. Her TikTok quickly went viral, getting a mixed bag of reactions from commenters on the popular social media site. Some thought it was a great idea, while others had notes. Alicia, no stranger to the internet’s fickle nature, took this all in stride.

Alicia originally got the idea from one of her friends. She couldn’t wait to try it with her family.

“My friend, Kiersten, sent me a TikTok video on @Growkingbleesing where they had a Nacho Pool and nachos is one of my favorite foods, so I knew I had to recreate it!” she told Today.com.

It took around six minutes to make the nacho pool — and most likely more to cook the ground beef that was added. At the end of the day, all that mattered to Alicia was that her kids were fed and happy.

“The kids LOVED the Nacho Pool! We snacked on it for hours! They thought it was so cool,” she revealed.

She is thankful for the likes and takes everything else with a grain of salt.

“I’m glad people saw it how I saw it: A fun family activity,” she said. “As with everything you do on social media, there are mixed reactions, but I’m glad the majority enjoyed it and also a lot of people said they’re going to try it this summer, so I thought it was great that it gave people a fun summer activity idea,” she concluded.
