Celeste Nurse gave birth to a baby girl named Zephany. Three days later, Zephany was kidnapped from the hospital. It's a mother's worst nightmare.
But recently, everything changed for Celeste and her family in South Africa. One of Celeste's other daughters, Cassidy, came home from school with remarkable news. It turned out Zephany was living just a few miles away.
Cassidy noticed an older girl at school who looked similar to her. It was Zephany.
While a 50-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, Celeste now says she has forgiven the horrible crime, because she gave her baby ‘a good life’.
What she told MailOnline is shocking people all over the world. Here's what she said:
"Zephany loves this woman dearly, she was a good mother to her. Undoubtedly we will meet, and I will thank her for taking care of my daughter. Zephany has had a good life with her – my daughter is beautiful, inside and out, she’s kind and clever – they did a great job."
Celeste, her husband Morne, and their children have been reunited with Zephany after 17 years. They never gave up hope they'd see their daughter again.
