When a pair of homeowners in the Phuket Province heard odd banging noises coming from their bathroom, they were initially startled… When the banging turned into hissing and gasping, they were scared… But when they started hearing what sounded like claws scratching against the linoleum floor — then they were outright horrified!
They slowly walked into the entrance of the bathroom, doing their best not to alert whatever was making such a loud ruckus. When they peered past the corner, they were shocked at what they saw. They closed the door, and instantly called for help.
When animal control arrived even they were a bit startled at what they were seeing. A 44-lb monitor lizard who decided he wanted to make a home out of their human bathroom. After 30 minutes of coaxing, begging, and finally trapping the angry reptile, they took it a bit further away from the local town in the hopes of avoiding more human interaction.
It turns out that due to recent heavy rains, a large amount of these big lizards have moved inland in order to get to higher ground on the island!
