Monkeys are just like us in many ways. Monkeys aren't just biologically close to humans, but they also share many of the same personality traits as we do. They share the same sense of wonder and amazement when they're shown a trick: this baboon was visibly bewildered by a simple card trick! They feel compassion and love, too — this monkey "adopted" a tiny puppy to keep him safe.
These animals don't just understand jokes and tricks, but are capable of performing them as well. They are crafty creatures, capable of beguiling an unsuspecting human. In Leshan, Sichuan Province, China, tourists were enjoying a simple meet-and-greet with some monkeys, and were even given the opportunity to feed them by placing treats in their hands. But it looks like one of the tourists got a little too comfortable with one of the monkeys, and let her guard down…
The monkey casually starts picking food from her hand, as she starts filming him from a very close angle. She's quite delighted by the interaction, but then he nonchalantly plucks her smartphone from her other hand! The woman yells in vain; the crafty monkey already ran off with it, having gotten all that he wanted from the tourist.
