Her Mother Tells Her To Read A Note… Just Wait For Her Reaction At :11. I Broke Down!

Lacey Parker, 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome, always dreamed of making the North DeSoto middle-school cheerleading squad in order to follow in the footsteps of her older sister.

Like Rion Holcombe and Madison Tevlin, who both never let Down syndrome hold them back from accomplishing their dreams, the Louisiana native got some great news of her own.

Her mother, Renee Parker, shared a video on Facebook showing the moment Lacey found out she made her school's cheerleading squad. More than 3 million people have viewed the video only a few days after it was posted on the social media site. It's easy to understand why when you see the young girl’s reaction at the :11 mark. It's absolutely heartwarming and proves that dreams can come true for anyone.

“Can't even put into words how excited she is!!!! I am the proud mom of an NDMS cheerleader!!! (Again) lol,” her mother captioned the video.

Lacey’s accomplishment is very commendable, especially since doctors said she wouldn’t live more than 10 days when she was born.

"Down syndrome is a label, it's not who she is. She's an amazing little girl who strives to do whatever she wants to do,” Mrs. Parker told NBC affiliate, KSLA.
