For those of us who enjoy the comfort of the indoors during the winter, streaming services are the gift that keeps on giving. This year, they're gifting us a whole lot. There's the Disney+ launch in November that boasts over 600 titles. There are also the masses of original holiday movies that Hallmark and Lifetime bring each year. Not to be outdone, Netflix is getting into the holiday season in a major way this year with plenty of content to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
The streaming giant is slated to roll out six new holiday specials. The specials include existing series as well as three new series. For family content, there will be five new specials you can enjoy with the kiddos. Last, but not least, there are movies. Netflix will deliver six new holiday-themed movies beginning November 1. How can all of this new holiday content get any better? The deal is sweetened by the fact that you'll see a lot of your favorite famous faces (and voices) making appearances.
'Tis the season to cuddle up under a blanket on the couch and binge-watch your favorite shows and movies. Who better to deliver you all the holiday content you never knew you needed than streaming giant Netflix?
Netflix is getting its A-game ready for the holiday season, offering tons of new content. It also has specials from your existing favorites lined up. There's so much to be excited about, we don't even know where to begin!
Since the holiday season is all about family, Netflix has a number of new specials that the whole family can enjoy together. On November 26, families can tune into Super Monsters Save Christmas and True: Winter Wishes.
On December 2, we'll be treated to Team Kaylie: Part 2. On December 6, Spirit Riding Free: The Spirit of Christmas will join the lineup. The holiday season will keep rolling past Christmas with the December 30 addition of Alexa & Katie.
If you're into baking shows, Netflix is serving up holiday sweetness. The Great British Baking Show: Holidays is returning for the second season on November 8 with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
Season two of Nailed It! Holiday! will be released on November 22 with guest judges Maya Rudolph, David Burtka, and more!
Netflix also has a new offering in the baking department. Sugar Rush Christmas debuts November 29. Hunter March, Candace Nelson, and Adriano Zumbo will be joined by guest judges Tiffani Thiessen, Liza Koshy, Donal Skehan, and more.
Two other shows will enjoy holiday-centric second seasons. Magic for Humans will follow magician Justin Willman as he spreads holiday cheer starting December 6. Lost in the Space will bring us back to the Robinson family on December 24.
There are also new series that will launch during the holidays. Merry Happy Whatever follows Dennis Quaid's patriarch character through the hectic days before Christmas, which are made more hectic when his youngest daughter brings home her new boyfriend. It debuts November 28.
Next up, holiday movies. November 1 kicks us off with Holiday in the Wild. Kristin Davis' character, Kate Conrad, heads to Africa to find herself after her son goes to college and her husband files for divorce. There, she meets Rob Lowe's character, pilot Derek Holliston. They work together to save a baby elephant and get to know one another.
On November 8, Let It Snow debuts. The film, based on the novel by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson, follows a group of high school seniors with intertwining stories during a snowstorm.
Animated comedy Klaus joins the lineup on November 15. It follows a struggling postal academy student, Jasper (voiced by Jason Schwartzman) who gets stationed in the Arctic Circle. There, he meets a local teacher, Alva (Rashida Jones) and a carpenter, Klaus (J.K. Simmons).
November 21 brings The Knight Before Christmas. Medieval knight Sir Cole (Josh Whitehouse) finds himself in Ohio, where he meets Brooke (Vanessa Hudgens), an unlucky-in-love science teacher.
Holiday Rush joins the lineup on November 28. It follows a single father/New York DJ Rush Williams (Romany Malco) as he faces the challenge of losing his job and being unable to spoil his four children as he has since their mother's death.
Last, but not least, is A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. The third film in the franchise picks up as Queen Amber (Rose McIver) and King Richard (Ben Lamb) are ready to take time off to prepare for the arrival of their first child. It debuts December 5.
