Six Brand-New Floats To Participate In This Year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Every family has their own Thanksgiving Day traditions — but the one that over 3 million of those families have in common is going to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade!

Whether you're enjoying the parade in the streets or in the comfort of your own warm and toasty living room, watching the parade is always a blast. The sheer scale of the parade is enough to marvel anyone young and old. Between the number of people who participate to the larger-than-life balloons, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

This year, we're getting an inside look into the parade's newest float additions! Crowds will be able to enjoy six new floats, all with some very elaborate decorations.

Colonel Sanders will make an appearance on a float depicting the celebrity chef's journey from Kentucky to New York, and how his friend chicken captured an entire nation!

Build-A-Bear's third float in the parade brings to life children's imagination, featuring scenes from space, a tea party, and even a dragon.

Mariah Carey will travel on the "Countdown to Christmas" float, entertaining the millions watching the parade. The float will depict scenes related to the Christmas season.

Because cranberries have a very important place on the Thanksgiving dinner table, Ocean Spray will have its own float as an ode to all the cranberry growers and bogs helping make our dinners delicious!

The parade will feature about 1,200 dancers and cheerleaders, who will surround the "Spirit of America" float.

And finally, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang will appear with the beloved pup's original blue doghouse on the 50th anniversary of the widely watched cartoon.
