6-Year-Old Twins Killed In Tornado After Mom’s ‘Eerie’ Cry For Help

A 37-year-old mom called for help when a tree fell on her home during a tornado. The tree caused her roof to collapse. The collapsed roof left the mom, Kayleigh Bisson, trapped, and she couldn’t find her 6-year-old twins. A neighbor who tried to help the mom and her daughters said he heard the mom shouting, “Get my kids out!” Tragically, the twins did not survive.

The deadly tornado tore through Clark Mills, a hamlet in Oneida County, New York, on June 22, 2025. Speaking to Syracuse.com, neighbor Jared Bowman said Kayleigh and her twins had just moved into the house a few months prior to the tornado. He recounted the devastating scene. “She was yelling, ‘Get my kids out!’” he told the publication. “But there was no noise. It felt very eerie and bad.”

According to a statement from National Weather Service Binghamton, the deadly tornado severely damaged three homes in the area and killed three residents. Among those killed were Kayleigh’s twin girls, Emily and Kenni Bisson.

Later, the girls’ elementary school, Clinton Elementary School, confirmed their deaths. In a statement published by Syracuse.com, the school district’s superintendent, Christopher Clancy, said “a severe weather emergency in our community resulted in the tragic loss of life, including two of our elementary students.” He added, “Our hearts are with all of the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy.”

A GoFundMe page was started on behalf of the mom. “These girls were taken too soon from their incredible mother,” the page states. “The mother has lost everything, children, house, clothing and memories.”

Additionally, the fundraiser noted that the twin girls were involved in “softball, soccer, dance, gymnastics and so much more.” The twins were known “for their enthusiasm, laughter and most of all their smiles to everyone in the community.”

Another resident, Shelly Johnson, 50, also died in the storm. According to Syracuse.com, a tree fell through her home while she was lying in bed.
