Taking pictures when you go to an aquarium is pretty standard behavior, but can you imagine how you'd react if the underwater creatures started snapping photographs of you? Visitors at a New Zealand aquarium got the surprise of a lifetime when an octopus named Rambo took their picture as they admired the beautiful animal in his tank. And for just $2 (and the cost of a plane ticket to New Zealand), you too can get a photograph that was taken by this eight-legged celebrity!
They might not look like more than a blob with weird tentacles, but the octopus is one of the coolest animals you'll ever see. They can completely change their color in seconds and even squeeze through spaces that are a fraction of their size. But what many people don't know is that these odd creatures are also super intelligent. They can be trained fairly easily, and as this jar-opening octopus shows, they can also figure out many tasks on their own! The man who trained Rambo to be a photographer said that it only took three tries for this smart sea creature to learn how to use the Sony TX30 camera. I know a lot of people who couldn't figure it out that fast!
Rambo's skills really prove that you can't judge a book (or a cephalopod) by its cover. Best of all, the proceeds that come from his photographs go directly towards the Sea Life conservation program! Looks like it's time to take a trip to New Zealand!
