If there is anyone in the world who deserves a few seconds of your time, it's a soldier. Stopping to say "thank you," give a handshake, or even just a smile takes very little effort — but to a soldier, feeling appreciated and honored for their service to our country can mean the world.
Unfortunately, there are some soldiers out there who don't deserve your praise. I'm talking about the men and women of "Stolen Valor." They wear the uniform, don the badges of honor, and reap the military benefits — but have they earned it?
In the following disturbing video, we hear a man who sounds like a veteran (or at the very least someone who is knowledgeable about veterans and military procedures) approach a soldier at Baltimore International Airport and thank him for his service. After asking a few questions, the man realizes that there are more than a few holes in Army 1st Lieutenant Michael Cipriani's story.
After the following video went viral, the situation got even stranger: The "man" in the video, who showed the camera a male ID, came forward as Kelsie Hoover, a film student who claims she had permission to borrow her brother-in-law's uniform and military ID.
Hoover's sister and her husband, the real 1st Lt. Michael Cipriani, said that Kelsie did not have permission to wear the uniform in public and impersonate an officer. Although Hoover apologized for her shameful actions, this should have never happened.
