Officers Are Being Praised For Helping Clean A Homeless Man Up

As of January 2015, there were 564,708 homeless people on any given night in the United States.

To put that in perspective for you, the U.S. population is around 318 million. That is not a small number compared to how many people are in this country. Of that number of homeless folk, over 200,000 were families.

To say that homelessness has become a bit of a crisis is an understatement. But that doesn't mean people are blind to it. One generous man started a chain of pay-it-forward kindness at a Philadelphia pizza shop to help feed the homeless.

Two Houston police officers are getting a lot of praise for helping a homeless man. In a photo that has since gone viral, Sergeant Steven Wick can be seen cleaning the man's feet off and even clipping his toenails!

The homeless man was nearly blind when the sergeant and his partner, Senior Officer Colin Mansfield, spotted him sitting on a bench.

They brought him to a sobering center in order to help get him cleaned up. They believe that helping out your fellow man is how they serve their community best.

These two are heroes in a very small, but incredible, way — just like this man who gives haircuts to the homeless. He doesn't ask for anything, but love, in return.
