This Old Woman Never Expected To Walk Again. How She Does It? I’m Still In SHOCK!

A robot did not write this article, but if you check in with me in 10 years, I may or may not still have a career.

That's because the days of robots threatening us with world domination in the movies are behind us. Nowadays, robots are being used for the betterment of mankind…and if they're taking over jobs that make our lives easier, they can have them!

We've seen how robots are being used to help people young and old, from robotic arms for the disabled to "cuter" robots, like this talking teddy bear, who helps comfort children battling cancer in the hospital. And anyone with a dog will appreciate this smart robot that can keep your pup entertained while you're away.

Yes, robots aren't just for nerds anymore, but HAL, the robot in this next video, is so amazing it will make just about anyone "geek out." HAL stands for "hybrid assistive limb," and it's basically a mechanically powered exoskeleton that people can step into and turn into Iron Man, with that unmatched "robot strength." However, Japan's Tsukuba University didn't design HAL so that average Joe's can pick up cars and buses. As you can see in the following video, robots like HAL can revolutionize life for those with physical disabilities.

What do you think robots like HAL should be used for? Please let us know in the comments and don't forget to SHARE this on your Facebook page!
