Daughter Reads Letter For Deployed Military Dad, But Has No Idea He’s Listening Right Behind Her

For the Aleman family, this Valentine's Day will be the best one they've ever had.

Omar Aleman is a Navy sailor and had been away from his family for a year and three days. Valentine's Day was approaching and the military dad couldn't wait another minute to be reunited with his entire family.

He planned to surprise his youngest girl, Abella, first. The little girl was sitting in front of her classmates, ready to share something very intimate with them. She had written an emotional letter addressed to her military dad, whom she missed more than words could even express.

In the video below, posted on February 2, 2017, Abella reads, "You are the greatest dad because you are so special. I miss you and I love you. Thank you for being my dad. Will you be my valentine?"

Unbeknownst to Abella, Omar is standing right behind her in his Navy uniform. He smiles, having heard every word.

If you're ready for your heart to melt, check out the video below to see Abella's reaction when she turns around to see her military dad.

Afterwards, Omar makes his way to his older daughter, Alyssa's, middle school, where she is sitting through a counseling assembly. Now, school assemblies and presentations can get a little boring, but not this one.

Omar waltzes through the classroom door in front of his daughter and all of her classmates for a huge homecoming surprise — and a much better assembly than expected.

To see Alyssa's first moments after realizing her dad is surprising her at school, see the same footage below.

Finally, please SHARE this meaningful homecoming with any military families you know!
