Reverend George Bennard's voice is so beautiful that just having the opportunity to listen to him sing in church would be all the motivation you'd need to sit in the pew every Sunday morning. I was excited to listen to him sing with his friends when they all gathered in his living room to perform "The Old Rugged Cross" — and then I realized that they weren't his friends, they were all him! This one talented man sings all four parts in this a cappella performance, and the result is enough to make your spine tingle.
The idea of singing with no instruments can be daunting, but for people who perform in a cappella groups like these four talented young ladies, it's just part of the job. But I think singing all four parts to a song would be a challenge for even the most experienced quartet member. Rev. George pulls it off flawlessly, though, and the harmony that results is absolutely enchanting. Just like this man whose voice gave goosebumps to everyone attending mass, this reverend has a special way of making you really feel what he's singing.
If only there were actually four incarnations of this talented guy. It would be so cool to hear this live on Sundays! For now, though, I guess I'm just going to have to be content with hitting the 'replay' button over and over again.
