Firefighters Heard Cries For Help, But What They Find? I Can’t Believe It!

Firefighters raced into a burning Idaho home over the weekend when they heard what they thought were a woman's screams coming from inside. The crews were able to make out the words "Fire!" and "Help!" and decided to investigate.

Crews believed there was someone else inside the house, but when firefighters couldn't find anyone in the house, they started using thermal imagery technology, which detected no people. Although they expected to find an elderly woman inside the home, they soon learned the voices were actually two very talkative parrots!

While we've seen plenty of talkative birds, like this cockatoo who hates the vet or Charles, the World's most excited bird, these parrots put their vocal skills to incredible use.

A male and female parrot were rescued. The female parrot was given oxygen, and both animals are expected to be okay. According to reports, the female parrot started to imitate the sounds of the sirens after she perked up.

The owners were not at home during the fire, and no one was injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This just goes to show that birds are truly incredible and smarty creatures. Who would have ever guessed they'd know to yell "fire" or "help" – but it ultimately saved their lives. This bird is one smart smoke detector. And thank god for these heroes for saving the family pets!
