Wow! Talk about a blast from the past…
Have you ever wondered if people will still be singing along to today's songs in 50 years? When The Beatles first came on to the scene in the early 1960s, it was clear that these five guys from Liverpool, England had something really special going on. But did anyone expect them to have the impact on music that we now know today? Probably not.
As you can see in this video, The Beatles certainly have made quite an impact on the world over the past five decades, but it's interesting to think about just how much the surviving band members have changed…and how much they've stayed the same, too.
When Paul McCartney wrote the instant classic "Yesterday" with bandmate John Lennon back in 1965 he was only 23 years old. He probably didn't expect to still be singing it nearly 50 years later, but when he did, it was just as beautiful.
Someone paired up two of McCartney's performances, from 1965 and again in 2011. Seeing him sing one of my all-time favorite songs side by side just made me break down. Whether you're a Beatles fan or not, this next video is really going to entertain you.
