PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) animal rights groups in the USA, UK and France have teamed up to put a bounty on an unidentified man who did something unthinkable. Another person visiting the Grand Canyon taped the act of animal cruelty and posted the video to YouTube.
In the video, a shirtless man in a cowboy hat can be seen luring a baby squirrel close to him at what park rangers have confirmed is the Grand Canyon. The man, accompanied by friends who watch on and snap photos and video of the heartless act, leads the tiny squirrel close to him with a trail of breadcrumbs before intentionally punting the small animal off the cliff. The unidentified men are believed to be French or French Canadian, and European PETA affiliates are also involved in the hunt for the murderer.
In the US, harassing wildlife is a federal offense that can result in six months in prison or a fine of up to $5,000. Unfortunately for the sadistic man in question, his face has been seen around the world and there is nowhere to hide. PETA believes it is only a matter of time before the squirrel kicker is found and justice is served for the presumably dead baby squirrel. PETA is promising a $15,000 bounty for any information leading to his arrest and conviction.
