Take a gander at any landfill, trash dump, or boxes marked "Free," and you'll see that our world is filled with what once was treasure — but is now, sadly, trash.
However, thanks to the very popular "upcycling" movement, discarded old what-nots are finally getting a second chance at life — and some of the results are downright stunning!
While anyone can transform an unused object into something functional and beautiful — like an old table turned sweet little dog bed — it does take a certain amount of innovation and creativity to totally reimagine an object.
That's why this particular upcycling project is so impressive. With just a few pieces of wood and an old piano keyboard, this crafter's living room was completely transformed.
The result was so beautiful, it even inspired other people to make their own version!

After finding an old, non-working piano on Craigslist, Dave — a musician and crafter — decided to do something creative. First, he started by sketching out his plan.
Next, he started assembling his supplies. His first step? To build a table!
Dave doesn't have a workbench, so he decided to get creative and use his dining room table to help build the frame.
Once everything was assembled, he stained the table.
Step one was complete! His table was beautiful and sturdy.
The next step was to build a bottom for the table.
Once that was finished, it was time to tackle the old piano keys. At first, he tried to adhere the keys together in small groups — but that didn't work.
He realized that keys are built to move freely without rubbing against one another, so gluing them together made everything crooked.
So he decided to glue each key down individually. It was tedious, but it turned out much better.
As it turns out, Dave was missing key number 21, but he made it work regardless.
Once the keys were in place, he covered the table in a layer of polyurethane, then laid in the glass.
When he was done, his vintage, handmade piano table fit perfectly in his music-themed living room. It was the gorgeous cherry on top!
His end result was so beautiful, it inspired another person to make their very own!
Isn't this a charming way to display a piece of musical history?
