When I Heard Pink Deliver THIS Negative Message To Girls, I Was Shocked. But Keep Listening…

I remember when I first heard of Pink, I was still in secondary school. She had a cool R&B and pop vibe that I liked.

More distinctly, though, I remember when I first realized Pink was the real deal. It was during an episode of VH1's Behind The Music.

Pink recently proved she was cool once again when she stood up to bullies who called her "fat."

Though Pink's upbringing wasn't as scandalous as other singers, her struggle to make a name for herself was more interesting than most.

While Pink's debut album Can't Take Me Home saw chart-topping success, there was one problem: She didn't write any of the songs on it. Although most pop singers don't write their songs (because they don't want to), Pink was adamant about having creative control of her image, her sound, and her song lyrics.

She fancied herself an artist, not a corporate puppet, but at the time her label didn't want to hear that, especially from a woman.

For her second album, Pink fought for more control and won. She dropped that R&B sound and image — which, in retrospect doesn't suit her at all! — to write her own songs.

It was a huge risk. Suffice to say, her second album, the one where she took control for the first time, is her best-selling album thus far. It sold over 13 million copies!

When people told Pink that "she can't," see what she said in the video below!
