If you've ever lived in New York City, then you already know that the struggle, as they say, is very real.
While I can't speak on other major metropolitan areas, I was fortunate enough to move to the Big Apple a few months after college, which is arguably the most down-and-out and penniless time of a person's life. Within a few short weeks, I found myself going from buying $16 vodka and soda drinks to scrapping together change to buy myself a bagel. New York, NY might be a heck of a town, but there's no doubt about it: It can run any normal, middle-class person dry.
Maybe that's why so many New Yorkers, and people worldwide, have become so obsessed overnight with the rodent known as "Pizza Rat." As you can see in the following video, Pizza Rat is not just a dirty little subway dweller who snuck into a trash bin and grabbed someone's leftovers. Pizza Rat is anyone who's ever struggled to make ends meet. Pizza Rat is me. Pizza Ray just may be you, too
Since the following video of the rat stealing his meal was posted to YouTube just two days ago, it has received almost 5 million views. That's way more than this tiny puppy ever got…and you know most people would scream if they saw Pizza Rat in real life! Some people want to believe this pizza-loving rodent is a real-life Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, just trying to feed his four baby turtles. I say he's an icon for my generation…and an inspiration to keep up the good fight.
Keep on truckin', Pizza Rat. You're doing just fine.
