When I was in fifth grade, I was obsessed with my teacher's beautiful acrylic nails.
She would come in every few weeks with a beautiful new shade, and I would look at my own bitten-down enamel just wishing they would magically transform into her classier set. I would even take my chewed up bubble gum and shape them into temporary versions just to daydream a little easier.
My nails still don't really grow past my fingertips even though I've curbed my biting habit. I've tried every over-the-counter treatment and supplement to strengthen them up, but nothing sticks.
These days, you can find ladies sporting nails that resemble everything from the galaxy to a fuzzy winter sweater. This version goes back to my childish roots, but the method below is a lot less gross than my former attempts to fake it.
I was pretty skeptical when I read the idea, but watching blogger Karina Garcia form gorgeous matte nails out of Play-Doh totally convinced me to give this a try!
That's right, the stuff we molded into silly shapes as kids can actually be used as fake nail option for those of us without our own set of pointy claws. Even better, it's totally easy to accomplish!
