Who's to say that one animal life is more important than another? Many people tend to believe that, say, a purebred show dog is worth saving over a homeless mutt, but in my opinion every animal is of equal worth on this planet.
Thankfully, I'm not the only one who feels this way, and there are tons of good people out there who have dedicated their lives to helping any animal in need.
I have to admit that when I first saw the porcupine in the following video, I didn't know what to think. He looks like a giant rat, which are not my favorite creatures in the world. However, even a giant rat, or in this case a porcupine, does not deserve to be in pain.
That's exactly why Jhesebel, a veterinary intern at the Piracicaba Municipal Zoo in Brazil, decided to get creative instead of disregarding the porcupine, who fell from a night club roof and suffered a bad spinal injury. For about $5, Jhesebel put together a homemade wheelchair and saved the porcupine's life.
As you can see in the video, the little guy was back on the move and happy as could be in no time!
