Every once in a blue moon, a rare and fascinating creature will depart from its wild environment and engage with boring ole humanity, which generally begets some pretty interesting videos.
For instance, a couple of days ago we showed you this adorable (albeit irritable) little owl who wandered to the doorstep of two bewildered women. Or perhaps less wild but still a hilarious encounter, the loose llama and goat who scared the crap out of an unsuspecting animal lover who pulled over to help what he’d thought was a stray dog (still one of my favorite videos of all time).
The lynx is a medium-sized species of wild cat, the most familiar of which is the bobcat. But these huge kitties are also indigenous to parts of Canada and Alaska (among other places farther away), and resident Beth-Ann Colebourne caught a rare video of a wild lynx at her local Terrace Bay, Ontario post office.
Like bobcats, lynxes are not approachable creatures. Like any wild animals who aren’t domesticated, they can be dangerous. But this particular cat is apparently indifferent to the whims of humans, because he’s very clearly annoyed to have been bothered from his unusual reverie in Uptown Ontario. His reaction? "Not today, lady."
