You may remember Postmodern Jukebox as the Internet proprietor of giving contemporary hits a classic remix. A good example of this might be Haley Reinhart's cover of Britney Spears’ iconic single, "Oops!… I Did It Again." The new millennium pop hit (and I think it's safe to assume we've all heard it before) got a jazzy makeover, turning it into a sultry tune you might have heard straight out of a nightclub from another era.
Or there's the PMJ band's hit from a decade before, '90s classic "Lovefool" by The Cardigans. Once again, Reinhart and her bandmates give the new age jam a '50s twist, giving it a nearly unrecognizable revamp (though one worth hearing).
In a new PMJ cover in the video below, Mykal Kilgore covers Céline Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," a single made famous for its debut in the box office record setting Titanic (the song, you'll remember, made Rose and Jack one of the most beloved romances in cinematic history). As the video's description points out, Kilgore's rendition gives the song a Jackie Wilson/Frankie Valli-era feel. Rather than a heartbreaking ballad, the PMJ jam transforms into an upbeat, playful pop tune peppered with some incredible high notes from Kilgore.
