When Sarah Cocchiara gave birth to her daughter Madison, the pregnancy and natural labor went off without a hitch.
Several years later, the mom from New York began experiencing similar pregnancy symptoms for the second time. She missed her period, her breasts were sore, and she was hungry and irritable. It was pretty obvious to her that she was pregnant with her second child.
Sarah took a test and it only confirmed her suspicions… it was positive!
So, she went to a local women's clinic to get checked out. The technician couldn't see the fetus in the ultrasound, so either she was really early on in the pregnancy, or it was an ectopic pregnancy.
The next time Sarah went for a checkup, doctors were concerned by her hormone levels — which were incredibly high. Then, during a routine prenatal ultrasound, she expected to see the image of her growing baby on the screen.
