Woman 7 Months Pregnant Crashes Into A Tree As News Crew Passing By Rushes To Help

When a news crew heads out to cover a story on the scene, they usually don't allow themselves to become involved in the narrative.

That changed for a Louisiana photojournalist when he and his team saw a car in flames on the side of the road. Inside, a woman seven and a half months pregnant was still reeling from the impact and suffering a head injury.

Patrick Perry immediately dove right into the burning vehicle to retrieve her, like the individuals who acted just as fast following a brutal 18-wheeler crash on the highway.

Fellow WBRZ journalist Brittany Weiss was also on the scene and filming the entire thing, switching places with the man who's usually behind the lens. She shared the heroic feat on her Facebook page where comments have been flooding in with concern for the mom-to-be and commendation for Perry's quick thinking.

Weiss updated the caption later in the day to confirm that the mom, Caitlynn, was rushed to the hospital. Caitlynn was admitted for her head injury, but remains stable with the baby unharmed.

The reporter also writes, "You cover stories like this but rarely witness a hero firsthand." It's truly a miracle that they happened to be on that road at exactly the right time for both Caitlynn and her child.
