Pregnant Homeless Couple Sleeps In Stranger’s Tent. The Next Day, They Look So Different

When Steve Cline attended the 6th annual Hope For The Homeless fundraiser, he never expected to become a hero.

In the video below, posted on April 30, 2017, a homeless couple expecting a baby approaches volunteers around 2 in the morning, asking for a road map. They say they were turned away by family and are trying to make a trip from Kentucky to New York on foot.

When a Hope For The Homeless volunteer named Steve Cline hears this, he knows he needs to help.

Another volunteer offers a tent for the homeless couple to sleep in. When Steve finds that they are still there the next day, he realizes how worn out their clothes and shoes are.

Then, he and the other members provide the expecting couple with the change they needed.

They go shopping and help the couple clean up. The man gets a clean shave as well. Not only does the homeless couple have a new look, but they also feel better about themselves.

Steve explains, "It was just an incredible experience. Just to watch the transformation and the confidence they built. He looked in the mirror. He shaved his face, and cleaned himself up, and he looked in the mirror and said, 'I am somebody.'"
