Singer, songwriter, and musician Prince has died at the age of 57 after a medical emergency on April 15 forced his private jet to land in Illinois, his publicist confirmed.
Born on June 7, 1958, as Prince Rogers Nelson, the artist's innovative music has transcended cultural and musical fads. Over the decades, since he started recording in late 1970s and early 1980s, his style of music and vocal range has helped bring certain trends to the forefront of the music industry. These trends have continued to influence artists, even those of today. His music combined many styles, including rock, R&B, soul, funk, disco, psychedelia, jazz, and pop.
