Prince Harry’s Friend Claims All Of His Calls To King Charles Are Going ‘Unanswered’

The more details that come out about what may be going on behind the scenes of Prince Harry's ongoing feud with the royal family, the less likely it seems that reconciliation is in the near future. One of Harry's friends is claiming that King Charles is now avoiding his youngest son's calls, instead saying that he is "unavailable" to talk. It doesn't sound like this is something Harry is going to easily get over, especially when he wants to talk to his father about serious subjects like his family's safety.

Charles and Harry have been at odds for a while, but according to what royal sources have told People, things got even worse in May 2024, when Charles didn't show up to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games with Harry, even though the event wasn't far.

At the time, a spokesperson for the palace said that Charles' schedule was too full to pencil Harry in during his visit, but it sounds like it was upsetting they didn't get to touch base for multiple reasons, including the matter of Harry's lack of the security while in the UK.

The source said that Harry and Charles' relationship has only gotten worse over the past few months, and that Charles has stopped taking Harry's calls and responding to his letters.

"He gets 'unavailable right now,'" a source claiming to be a friend of Prince Harry's told People. "His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King's health, but those calls go unanswered too."

Now, Harry is feeling "frightened" about what could happen when he, Meghan Markle, and even their kids spend time in the UK in the future, and is "determined to protect his own family at all costs."

People points out that though Charles isn't responsible for what the UK government does, Harry's offer to foot the bill for his family's security was shot down in court, so now, Harry reportedly thinks that there's something Charles could do to change that but, for some reason, has chosen not to step in.

A royal source said that Charles is worried that if he gives Harry and Meghan too much leeway, history will repeat itself.

"When [Princess Diana] divorced the institution, she took the headlines, overshadowed his work and became a global superstar. Seeing his son leave with his wife was not part of the plan," they said.

Harry's friend said that if Charles was able to get in and help him get the security he needs, it would be "swords down" as far as he's concerned.

"[Nothing] would give [Harry] more happiness than being able to rekindle his bond with his father," they said. "At the end of the day, you can’t undo bloodlines. He’s not asking his dad for a nicer house or nicer cars. He’s asking because of the reality of the situation. He is at risk."

Until then, it sounds like Charles can count on seeing less of his son — and likely even less of his daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
