Principal Who Lost Legs Goes To Pick Up Car, But Worker Brings Him Completely Different One

Javier Perez was a principal at South Dade High School in Miami, Florida, beloved by all his students and colleagues.

Sadly, he suffered a devastating accident, losing both of his legs after being hit by a drunk driver.

Soon after, he underwent a drastic lifestyle change, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally; this included having to rely on his wife for the family's transportation.

"We have two kids, they have activities, the different things [they do, and] we only have one driver, my wife," he said.

Javier had gone to the South Dade Toyota shop to pick up his car, which was being outfitted with hand controls so he could finally drive again. Instead, he got way more than he bargained for.

South Dade Toyota got him a brand-new minivan, outfitted with the controls he needed, free of charge. The gesture moved him to tears.

“It’s finally that freedom that I’ve been seeking."

But the surprises weren't done yet.

“I had an MLB player call me this morning, Hector Olivera, and he said that the other wheelchair that you’re going to need, he’s going to give that to you for free,” announced Alex Vega, with The Auto Firm.

The outpouring of support was both unexpected and tremendous.

“Unfortunately we see a lot of the negative stuff a lot of times on TV, but there are so many good people. It’s incredible,” Javier said.
