Grandparents are a great blessing, but not everyone is lucky enough to grow up with theirs by their side.
The young man in the video below has had his grandpa there for every single one of his games, banquets, and big days in life. Unfortunately, though, when the time came for his prom, his grandfather landed in the hospital for a procedure.
Because of his diabetes, this granddad was at an increased risk for infection following surgery. He had to stay in the hospital for a bit longer than usual.
And since he couldn't come home for the prom photos, his grandson decided to take the prom photos to him.
He brought his date to the hospital. When they walk in, you can tell that the entire room has erupted with emotions.
When the young man bends down to hug and kiss his grandfather, his date can barely keep it together. And when he himself stands up, you can see that he and his grandfather are both breaking down in tears, as well.
After all of the years that this man was there for his grandson, he felt the love and respect when his grandson made sure that he was there to show his appreciation and compassion right back.
This is a moment they'll cherish forever.
