People who suffer from difficult skin conditions like acne, eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis may feel like they are completely controlled by them.
Since they can directly affect people's outside appearance, it can be difficult for them to literally be comfortable in their own skin, especially when there are so many people who don't understand what they are going through.
Fortunately, there are people who are posting pictures and information about their afflictions — like this brave actress — that helps normalize them as well as educate others that don't know anything about them
An Imgur user is also helping to spread the word about enflamed skin afflictions, specifically psoriasis, which he suffers from.
Complete with pictures of flare-ups around his body, he voices his frustrations about the disease, as well as explains how it affects his life.

Psoriasis affects a massive amount of Americans. According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, 7.5 million people in the U.S. have it in some capacity.
But many don’t know exactly what having the disease entails, especially since many who are affected by it don’t like to sport their skin during flare-ups.

But after one Imgur user began to get particularly intense flare-ups, due to a tonsillitis infection, he decided to showcase his inflamed skin, rather than hide it away.
In his online post, he details what living with psoriasis is like, and couples the descriptions with photos of his skin.

“I have nothing to be afraid of showing anymore,” he began, while explaining the inner workings of the inflammatory disease.
"When you have psoriasis, the genes that control your immune system signals get mixed up. Instead of protecting your body from invaders as it's designed to do, it promotes inflammation and turns skin cells on overdrive."

"For those who are curious, psoriasis can be triggered by anything, a small paper cut, a mosquito bite, depression, ANYTHING you can come up with, basically," he states.
These cause the skin cells amass and multiply faster than the body can slough them off, resulting in itchy, red, irritated skin.

Along with the information, he also offers a bit of inspiration for others living with skin complications.
"I want to spread as much awareness about different skin conditions that not only affects the body, but also the mind, since this is permanent."

"…I want to say to you people who have psoriasis, psoriasis arthritis, eczema, pityriasis rosea, or whatever you might have that makes you feel ashamed of your body, that makes you feel disgusted by yourself: dare to go bare!"
By showing his skin and explaining how psoriasis affects everyone who battles it, he helps to educate others who may write is off as just a scary skin rash.
