Cops Are Warning Women To Buckle Their Purses To Their Shopping Carts To Outsmart Thieves

A few months ago, I was shopping for groceries while carrying a large purse. Normally, I carry a small cross-body bag, but I was on my way home from work and had to hold a larger bag.

I didn't want to have to lug my bag around while I trudged through the store, so I put it into the kids seat of my shopping cart.

The store was crowded, and I quickly realized someone could snatch my bag in an instant if I looked away. I didn't want to put my bag back onto my shoulder, but then I figured out that I could snap the kids seat belt around the strap of my bag to keep it secure.

I couldn't believe I'd never thought of it before, but now I do it every single time I go grocery shopping!

Lots of women know about this hack, and now even local police are encouraging others to start using it.

When using a shopping cart as you browse through the store, keep your purse zipped or closed and secure it to the cart by clipping the child safety belt through the strap(s).

This will help in preventing someone from taking advantage of your distraction and running off with the purse.

For those carts that don’t have the child strap, keep an inexpensive carabiner clip attached to your purse strap.

Simply clip the carabiner to the cart and your purse is more secure. HAPPY SHOPPING!
