Here at LittleThings, we love a good survival story. The following story of survival by two kittens reminds us of the human capacity for compassion.
Quenby and Qorn are young brothers who were brought into this world with the cards stacked against them. For reasons that were not immediately clear to the shelter that rescued them, their mother didn't do the normal post-birthing steps to free them of their placenta, so they had to be cut out when they arrived. Though there were four kittens in the litter, only Quenby and Qorn survived. And while their caregivers weren't sure they were going to live, they are now healthy and awaiting their forever homes thanks to their determination and help from the shelter's staff.
Quenby and Qorn reminded us a few other incredible pets who survived despite unthinkable odds. Chloe, a tiny rescue kitten, was taken in by a kill shelter a mere hours before it closed. Had she not been taken in by a foster who could bottle-feed her every couple of hours, she would have been put down. However, thanks to a compassionate caretaker, she was able to be nursed back to health and put up for adoption.
The Pet Collective, who made the following video, asks that you SHARE this with your friends to remind prospective pet owners that adoptions help save lives! Please pass it on!
