Check Out This Jazz Cover Of Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” by Postmodern Jukebox

In a world where repetitive pop music reigns, it's hard to make a name for yourself on big radio when you don't have the same auto-tuned sound as all the other major stars. But Imagine Dragons have managed to do just that, and it's largely due to their massive 2012 hit "Radioactive." This eerie-but-addictive song has spawned hundreds of covers, but none have wowed me quite like this one performed by Postmodern Jukebox and former American Idol contestant Blake Lewis. I can't believe what he does at 2:11!

Postmodern Jukebox is known for taking modern-day songs and taking them back in time for a vintage makeover. They did a great job taking Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" and completely transforming it, but I think "Radioactive" is even better suited for a musical time machine ride. Who knew this hit song would sound so good with a hip, jazzy style?

This isn't the first time Jukebox has gotten help from a talented American Idol alum, either. Season 10's 3rd place winner Haley Reinhart has also performed a couple of songs with them, including this spine-tingling version of Radiohead's "Creep." Just like Haley, Blake proved that he deserves far more than fifteen minutes of fame on a reality show. Between his voice and his incredible beatboxing skills, this guy is a genuine star!

I absolutely love listening to Imagine Dragons, but I have to admit that Postmodern Jukebox's version of "Radioactive" is nearly as good as the original! I guess a modern song, a vintage twist, and a bit of beatboxing make for an amazing combination after all.
