Rick Antosh was enjoying lunch with a friend at Grand Central Terminal's famous Oyster Bar when something unusual happened.
Rick tossed back a raw oyster and felt something hard in his mouth. At first he thought it was "a filling or a tooth," so he pulled it out of his mouth to examine it further.
The small object was roundish and white, but it had a black dot on it. Rick told CBS New York, "When I saw the black dot, it really intrigued me… is this something that broke off a utensil in the kitchen?"
He was confused, but he kept looking at the tiny object. Upon closer examination, Rick realized the object might actually be a pearl!
The chef came out to look at what Rick had found, and he confirmed his suspicion: It was indeed a pearl. "He's been there 28 years, and this is only the second time this has happened," Rick said.
